Altus Scooter & Motorcycle Parts™ is proud to have participated in this year’s Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Festival (大甲媽祖朝聖祭), one of Taiwan’s most cherished cultural and religious events. Held annually in Taichung’s Dajia District, this incredible nine-day celebration is dedicated to the Taoist sea goddess Mazu and attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across Taiwan and beyond. As part of our commitment to preserving traditional Taiwanese culture and fostering interdependent relationships within the Asian community, Altus Scooter & Motorcycle Parts™ contributed to the festivities in a meaningful way.

This year, CEO Lawrence Chen and Global Business Development Director John Melendez led Altus Scooter & Motorcycle Parts™ in a benevolent charity giveaway, freely distributing 8,000 vegetarian steamed baozi buns (包子) to pilgrims and festival attendees. This gesture of goodwill reflects our dedication to honoring Taiwanese traditions and supporting the local community during such an important cultural event.

The giveaway was met with overwhelming appreciation from the crowd, and Mr. Melendez, along with other members of the benevolent association, was interviewed by Taiwan’s SET television in recognition of their participation. The interview highlighted Altus Scooter & Motorcycle Parts™'s role in promoting cultural values and supporting the vibrant Mazu Pilgrimage Festival, which has been recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Taiwan.

John Melendez briefly interviewed at the festival

The Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage is not just a religious event but also a celebration of unity, tradition, and community spirit. It spans over 330 kilometers, stopping at temples across Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, and Chiayi. Pilgrims follow a vegetarian diet during the journey, making our baozi giveaway a perfect way to support their spiritual practice while contributing to the festival’s atmosphere of generosity.

We are honored to have been part of this spectacular event that blends centuries-old traditions with modern-day community engagement. Altus Scooter & Motorcycle Parts™ remains committed to supporting cultural preservation and fostering meaningful connections within the Asian community in both Taiwan and abroad.

Thank you to everyone who joined us during this year’s 2025 pilgrimage! We look forward to seeing you again in 2026 for another unforgettable celebration of Taiwanese heritage and unity!
